The following are machine and human readable databases of freely-licenced
content available at certain sites. Some programs that use them are also made
available and can server as templates for your own. But YAML files are also
very readable as plain text, in your browser or a text editor. A
processing program for YAML files is available at my personal site.
All catalogs are made available under the
Open Data Commons Open Database
License (ODbL). Their content is made available under the
Database Contents License (DbCL)
in so far as it has been created by Volker Schatz; some content may be the
property of its respective creator(s).
OpenCores is a major repository of freely-licenced
hardware designs. Its own database is a bit of a mess, due to the presence of
many inactive designs and partially missing metadata. See

Musopen is a (if not the) major site providing freely
licensed classical music recordings. A few removed pieces are mirrored

These are classical audio recordings from the now defunct recording company
Pandora Records. A large number of albums, primarily of chamber music, were
subsequently published under a free license (see
though the license file has apparently been removed), and are now available at
ibilio.org as OGG Vorbis and
MP3. The catalog below refers to OGG

The Jerusalem Music Centre used to publish some of its albums on its website,
though they seem to have been removed. All the same, here is a partial

365 Tomorrows is a flash fiction site that
published a story every day. Stories are licensed under a Creative Commons
Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs License. The following catalog in YAML
format includes metadata and texts from August 2008 to August 2016.
